SPINACH SMOOTHIE

We are well into December and the best thing about this month is the variety of greens available, almost every greengrocer is now stocked with tons of spinach and fenugreek, which are some of the healthiest things that we can insert into our body. The main question lies in how should we consume these greens, what is the best form to eat them, should we cook them or eat them raw?

About that, I will mention the nutritional facts of cooked spinach and raw spinach.

Fresh and cooked spinach contains about the same amount of macronutrients in a 100-gram serving. Each serving provides about 23 calories, 3 grams of protein, 0.3 grams of fat, and 3.8 grams of carbohydrates, including 2.4gram of fiber.

The macronutrients in both forms lie in their vitamin content. 100 grams of fresh spinach provides about 47 percent of the daily vitamin C dose but the same amount of cooked spinach has just 16 percent of the same. The same goes with folate, fresh spinach provides 49 percent of daily value but cooked spinach has just 38 percent. However, cooked leaves have a bit more of vitamins A, B-6, K, and riboflavin.

My personal preference is always consuming it raw in the form of a smoothie. Spinach always has been a prominent ingredient for green smoothies. Here, I am posting the recipe for my favorite green smoothie.
